Holiday Decorating Contest

The Board of Directors of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau want to extend our deep thanks and appreciation for participating in the 2nd Annual Historic Grapevine Township Annual Holiday Decoration Contest. The neighborhood looks wonderful from corner to corner!

This year we had four new entries sign up for the contest. Six of the twelve judges were new this year representing the Chamber of Commerce, the Grapevine Historical Commission, Grapevine City Council, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation and the Township. The judges take their responsibility very seriously and had a challenging time. They recognized all the planning and hard work you put in to make your home come alive for the holiday.

Each home was reviewed on five elements; design, lights, coordination/theme, color and variety. Each review element was awarded a minimum of one point and a maximum of five points for a possible single total of 25 points per judge. The cumulative score from all judges was used to determine the top three places.

Here are the top three places for 2007:

First Place and $1,000 to: Sara Jeffcoat, 422 South Dooley Street
Second Place and $500 to: Joann Pearson and David Herrington, 306 Austin Street
Third Place and $250: Chad Thompson, 218 West College

Congratulations!

Once again, thank you to all the participants for decorating your homes and yards so beautifully and adding so much spirit to the neighborhood. Each of you have done an amazing job in making the Historic Grapevine Township a "must-see" holiday lighting destination and an important part of a Grapevine visitor experience.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
