HAVE AN OUT OF THIS WORLD JULY 4TH CELEBRATION IN GRAPEVINE

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (June 27, 2013) From fireworks to Nash Farm to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad and more, Grapevine is the place to be to celebrate America's birthday!

On Wednesday, July 4th, Grapevine celebrates in true patriotic style with the 31st Annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza over Lake Grapevine. This nearly 30-minute fireworks extravaganza begins at 9:30 p.m. with great viewing spots located around Lake Grapevine including the Gaylord Texan Resort's parking garage, the Glass Cactus nightclub, other area hotels and a variety of lakeside city parks. And don't forget to check out the Friday Night Fireworks over Lake Grapevine held every Friday night now through Labor Day weekend, including Friday, July 5th. This 12-minute show is a Grapevine tradition and fun for the entire family!

Before the fireworks, hop aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad's Independence Day trains. On July 4th, enjoy the 1 p.m. route to the Fort Worth Stockyards featuring the Great Train Robberies' group of outlaws and the deputies trying to stop them along the route. This route returns to Grapevine at approximately 5:45 p.m. Or hop aboard in the Stockyards for the Trinity River Run at 2:45 p.m. with an approximate return to the Stockyards at 3:45 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit www.GVRR.com. 705 S. Head out to Grapevine's Nash Farm to enjoy the First Fridays at the Farm series Keeping Cool event on July 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Experience how early Texans would keep cool during the hot days of summer. Take part in making and enjoying hand-cranked ice cream, watermelon seed spitting contest, water bucket relay and more. Participation fee is $3 per person and Nash Farm is handicap accessible. Don't miss Nash Farm's Farmhand Social and Volunteer Recruitment Drive on July 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nash Farm preserves, protects and visually reflects the agricultural heritage of Grapevine with the support of dedicated volunteer Farmhands. This free event is open to the public and will include hand-cranked ice cream, a watermelon seed spitting competition, water bucket relay, farm equipment auction and much more.
