See Friday Night Fireworks Over Lake Grapevine: Blast off for fireworks fun every Friday night as the skies light up over Lake Grapevine. The Friday Night Fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. and last approximately 12 minutes. This weekly show can be viewed on the rooftop of the parking garage at Gaylord Texan Resort, featuring a DJ, music and plenty of viewing space as well as Oak Grove Park's soccer field parking lot and Rockledge Park. This exciting extended fireworks show is set to patriotic music and is the perfect way to celebrate America's birthday. Friday Night Fireworks begin May 22.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" at the Grapevine Tower Gallery: Follow the yellow brick road and step into the pages of an interactive exhibition open in Grapevine's Tower Gallery, featuring the book, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," by L. Frank Baum with the artwork of W.W. Denslow. Perfect for children 2 - 12 years of age, visitors will feel like they're walking through a storybook as they learn about science, art and history against the backdrop of the first American fairy tale. Build Up Some Water Fun at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center: Geared towards children ages three to 10, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center's Pirate Beach features 30 interactive gadgets pumping and spraying thousands of gallons of water. Structured after a shipwrecked pirate vessel, Pirate Beach's central feature is a playground where kids can navigate through water jets and fountains, squirt cannons and splash down water slides. Looming at the top of the 20-foot-tall mast is a 50-gallon bucket poised to dump water on guests every few minutes. Capture the Great Train Robbers on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad: Travel back in time on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. These 1920s Victorian-style coaches will transport riders of all ages on this celebrated railroad every Friday, Saturday and Sunday all summer long. And beginning Saturday, May23 through Labor Day weekend, don't miss the Great Train Robberies on Saturdays and Sundays, as your little deputies can help capture the notorious outlaws that stop the train. The Grapevine to the Stockyards train departs Grapevine at 1 p.m. with an expected return of 5:45 p.m. Round trip tickets are $16 for touring class and $26 for first class. Make it a Historic Summer at Grapevine's Nash Farm: Experience life on the 19th century farm just like Grapevine's earliest settlers. Purchased by Thomas Jefferson Nash in 1859, Grapevine's Nash Farm brings history to life through a series of interpretive programs. First Fridays at the Farm highlights different aspects of farm life. Summer First Fridays events include June 5: Crops; July 3: Keeping Cool and August 7: Cotton. All First Fridays at the Farm events are 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. New for 2015 is the Frugal Farm Wife series, offering programs focusing on the domestic chores of a farm family. While you're here, come see Grapevine's Glockenspiel Clock Tower featuring two, larger-than-life, 9-foot tall Glockenspiel characters, known as the Would-Be Train Robbers, Nat Barrett and Willy Majors.
