Grapevine Toasts 20th Annual Blessing of the Vines and New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail

GRAPEVINE, TX (February 24, 2012) - Celebrate the new vintage in Grapevine at the 20th Annual Blessing of the Vines and New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail on April 14, presented by Park Place Motorcars Grapevine. An abundance of wine-related activities will fill a fabulous spring Saturday in Grapevine, the headquarters of the Texas wine industry.

Begin April 14 at Delaney Vineyards as wine aficionados gather to take part in the Blessing of the Vines and New Release Wines, a centuries-old European blessing performed by a priest to celebrate the new harvest, robust vines and savory grapes. The ceremony begins with a colorful procession through the largest vineyard in North Texas and is followed by a complimentary wine tasting and live entertainment. The priest will bless the vines for the 2012 harvest, as well as the new release wines from crops from previous years. The Blessing of the Vines event is free and begins at 11 a.m.

After the Blessing of the Vines and New Vintage Releases, the celebration continues on the New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail. Participants will stop at Grapevine's wineries and art galleries throughout Grapevine. One special stop will include an art show by the Grapevine Art Project featuring the work of 35 local artisans for display and sale at the Palace Arts Center on Main Street in Historic Downtown Grapevine. Tickets for the Wine and Gallery Trail are $49 per person and include wine tastings at all of Grapevine's winery tasting rooms, food offerings, live entertainment and a souvenir wine glass. The Wine and Gallery Trail begins and ends at Delaney Vineyards and runs from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Complimentary shuttles run continuously between all wineries from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Participants must be 21 and up.
