GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (May 21, 2017) – Craft brew lovers experienced three days of family-friendly festival fun, including live music, delicious festival food, special artisans and vendors and more all weekend at Grapevine’s 33rd Annual Main Street Fest presented by Bank of the West. Guests sampled more than 80 craft brews from 36 breweries across 15 states, including eight limited releases; voted in the Favorite Brew Style Challenge and enjoyed a weekend full of activities. The 33rd Annual Main Street Fest took place May 19, 20 and 21, 2017.

Guests at the 33rd Annual Main Street Fest enjoyed a special Texas appearance by The Brew Sisters from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Crystal and Tara Luxmore, known as The Brew Sisters, are Craft Brew Cicerones and Prud’homme Sommeliers, Beer and Cider Judges and renowned experts of their craft. Throughout the festival, The Brew Sisters greeted guests in the Craft Brew Experience, sponsored by Gaylord Texan Resort, as well as workshops around craft brews, food and female influence in the Craft Brew industry. Brewmasters were also onsite at the Craft Brew Experience. The workshops included Craft Brew 101 Workshop: How to Taste Brew Like a Boss and The Original Brewers: The Untold Story of Women & Brew.

Patrons in the Craft Brew Experience presented by Gaylord Texan Resort voted for their favorite style of craft brew. The winners were IPA, Cider and Stout. Other craft brew styles sampled in the Craft Brew Experience included Ale, Barley Wine, Belgian-Style Ale, Blonde Ale, Dubbel Ale, Pale Ale, Porter, Saison, Seasonal Beer, Tripel Ale and Wit.

“Main Street Fest was a special and exciting weekend of festival fun in Historic Downtown Grapevine,” said festival co-chairs Sonya and Mark Terpening. “The Craft Brew Experience featuring the Brew Sisters, the KidZone with LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, SEA LIFE and the Carnival and Midway were busy all weekend long. Guests also sampled delicious festival food and shopped for artisan handcrafts and one-of-a-kind treasures.”

Festival guests hit a high note during the 4th Annual DFW ICON competition, hosted by JG Entertainment. Winners were selected Sunday in different age categories and included Grand Champion Kaci Whitby, 28, Dallas, TX; Carrington Haynes, 9, Garland, TX; Valeria Jauregui, 14, San Antonio, TX; Angel Reeve, 15, Arlington, TX and Tatianna Valentine, 20, Dallas, TX

Guests also danced in the streets during live performances on stages throughout the festival from artists such as Sundance Head, season 11 winner of The Voice; Kalimba, an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute band and more. Live music could be heard on the Audi Grapevine Main Stage, Sierra Nevada Gazebo Stage and Palace Theatre Stage throughout the weekend.

More than 75 artisans participated in Main Street, with approximately one-third being first-time festival vendors. The artisans offered all types of handcrafted goods including jewelry, clothing, lamps, sculptures, fine art originals, metal work and more.

During Main Street Fest on Friday, May 19, the Grapevine Rotary Club dedicated a 16-foot, 4-sided clock to the City of Grapevine, which celebrates 50 years of service to the community and to the world.  The clock is located in front of the 1888 Sayers and Scovill Hearse next to Foust Funeral Home on Grapevine's Historic Main Street. The clock was produced by the Verdin Company from Cincinnati, Ohio. The Verdin Company was formed in 1842 and since that time, six generations of the family have been dedicated to creating fine cast bronze bells, carillons, electronic digital bells, tower clocks, street clocks and streetscape furnishings that enrich communities and become cherished legacies for generations to enjoy.

In the weeks prior to Main Street Fest, a series of pre-festival events were held at establishments across North Texas including Deep Ellum Brewing Company, CIDERCADE, Lucy’s Lot and Tolbert’s. These special events highlight a variety of craft breweries that were participating in the 33rd Annual Main Street Fest.

The 34th Annual Main Street Fest will be held May 18, 19 and 20, 2018. Photos are available upon request. Attendance figures will be available by Wednesday, May 24. For more information about Grapevine or Main Street Fest, call 800-457-6338 or visit www.GrapevineTexasUSA.com.
