One of nature's most misunderstood species and state-of-the-art technology collide in Shark Mission, a new interactive zone that launches at SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium on Friday, March 7. Visitors are immersed in the life of a shark with interactive games, spectacular visuals and fascinating facts about these majestic predators of the deep. The hands-on exhibit, in conjunction with the redesigned Shark Walk, creates a new shark area that allows guests of all ages to watch several species of sharks swim beneath their feet from a suspended glass platform and discover compelling facts about shark anatomy and habits with giant cutting-edge touch screens. Take your picture with the humongous jaws of a Megalodon shark, the biggest prehistoric shark that ever lived. Touch real shark eggs, teeth and more in the discovery touch pools. Celebrate our military heroes at A Traveling Smithsonian Exhibition - "Mail Call" - open now through April 15 at Grapevine's Tower Gallery, 636 S. Main St. This exciting and interactive exhibit explores the history of America's military postal system, and examines how even in today's era of instant communication, troops overseas continue to treasure mail delivered from home. Organized and circulated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, the exhibition tells the fascinating story of military mail and communication-from the American Revolution to current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Special activities will take place throughout the exhibit. A variety of special activities including letter writing will be available. Free.

 

See the International Porcelain Artists and Teachers' (IPAT) "Art of the Egg" exhibit at Grapevine's Grand Gallery, 636 S. Main Street. Opening March 5 through April 29, this exhibit features beautiful hand-painted porcelain art, including a display detailing the process of porcelain painting. Along with a focus on eggs and springtime, the works in the exhibit pay homage to springtime religious holidays. Free.

 

Tap your toes to the springtime sounds of The Grapevine Opry Show at Grapevine's Palace Theatre, 300 S. Main St. The all-new, high-energy show features an amazing professional cast, along with local talent and comedy performances. On March 8, don't miss the "Party in the Good Ole Days" show with a musical journey through the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. On March 15, enjoy "Born Country" featuring 50 years of country music, from country classics to today's hits including gospel and patriotic favorites. On Saturday, March 15, the entire family will enjoy Tales at Twilight at Grapevine's Nash Farm. Presented by the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., guests will hear stories from around the world. Bring a chair and blanket and refreshments if you like. What's spring break without a great movie? Grapevine's Historic Palace Theatre is the perfect place to check out a great movie. In celebration of Texas Independence Day, see "The Alamo" starring John Wayne, Richard Widmark and Lawrence Harvey on March 7. "Dear John," rated PG-13 and starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, will be the featured movie on Friday, March 14. Receive a complimentary ticket to "Dear John" with a military ID. While you're in Grapevine, make sure to check out the 127-foot high Grapevine Glockenspiel Clock Tower featuring the Would-Be Train Robbers Nat Barrett and Willy Majors. Located 75-feet in the air, these two larger-than-life, 9-foot tall Glockenspiel characters emerge each day at the stroke of 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to attempt the perfect heist and learn that crime just doesn't pay!
