UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS TO BE HONORED AT GRAPEVINE’S VETERANS DAY PARADE AND FAIR, NOVEMBER 10

Parade will take place along Grapevine’s Historic Main Street

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (November 2, 2018) – Salute military veterans at the Veterans Day Parade, Saturday, November 10 at 10 a.m. in Historic Downtown Grapevine. Veterans and citizens alike are invited to experience this meaningful day for our country’s military servicemen and women. This year’s parade will honor the United States Marine Corps, and recognize decorated Retired Sergeant Major James “Bo” Pippin for his career in the Marine Corps, which spanned 30 years and includes a Purple Heart.

During the parade, a variety of veterans groups will display their patriotism, and many of Grapevine’s civic and service groups will be showing their support for our nation’s veterans. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Main and West Hudgins Streets and will travel north along Main Street. The route will turn east on East Wall Street, where the parade will end at East Wall and Jenkins Streets. Free parking will be available throughout Historic Downtown Grapevine. Special photo opportunities will be available throughout the event.

Also taking place on Saturday, November 10, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., will be the Veterans Fair, hosted by VFW Post 10454 Grapevine and the City of Grapevine. The event will take place in the large public parking lot behind the Town Square Gazebo, 115 E. Worth St. More than 15 organizations providing veteran services, programs and benefits will be in attendance. Attendees can enjoy live music, performed by an all veteran band part of the Wounded Warrior Project, food, activities, military vehicles and much more. Veterans Day is an official United States federal holiday that is observed annually on
November 11, honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Grapevine Veterans Day Parade is held to celebrate and salute the nation’s veterans. Organizers strive to draw attention to the true meaning of Veterans Day by informing veterans of available assistance programs, as well as how the community can contribute to help veterans in need.
