Happy Fall Y’all! With Fall comes cooler temperatures, the changing colors of leaves, football season and of course, some of Grapevine’s best family-friendly events. Grab your pumpkin spice everything and get ready to enjoy everything from butterfly releases to barn dances in a historic farm setting.
Barn Dance - October 13, 6:30 p.m.
Swing your partner round and round at this year's Barn Dance at Nash Farm. This fun filled event will feature a live band with a caller, a special fried chicken supper and a pie auction to boot. Wear your best 50s and 60s outfit. Tickets are $20 per person.
20th Annual Butterfly Flutterby - October 14, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Celebrate the migration of the monarch butterfly as they make their way from Canada to Mexico. This free, family-friendly event is also pet-friendly, so bring your furry friend. Parade registration begins at 8:45 a.m. and the parade route begins at East Wall and Jenkins Streets (across from City Hall) at 10 a.m. and ends at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park, 411 Ball St. Be sure to wear your best butterfly ensemble for some awesome prizes! The parade ends at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens, where families can enjoy interactive games, crafts, a scavenger hunt, face painting and more. More than 200 butterflies will be released at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
17th Annual Fall Round-Up - October 14, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Experience life on the farm at Grapevine’s historic Nash Farm. Enjoy live music, wagon rides, pumpkin carving, apple pie making demonstrations, farm chores, heritage games and more at this family-friendly celebration of fall. Admission is free, but some activities require a small fee and food is available for purchase.
Bewitched by the Barn - October 21, 7 - 9 p.m.
Enjoy a night at Grapevine’s Nash Farm filled with popcorn, warm cider and stories that get spookier as the night falls over the farm. Free!
Witches Brew Train Excursion - October 27, 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Grab your friends and ride the rails aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad adorned in your Halloween costume. Enjoy two glasses of Texas craft brew in a souvenir mug and Italian fare catered by Wise Guys Pizzeria. Specifically for guests ages 21 and up, the event also features special entertainment and tickets are only $35 per person.
Ghost Tour with Wine – Most Thurs, Fri & Sat, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
The 90-minute walking ghost tour happens most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Grape Vine Springs Winery. Uncover who robbed the bank on Main Street in 1932, which winery is haunted and more eerie history from Grapevine’s past. After the tour, enjoy a glass of wine included in the tour. Tickets range from $17-20 per person.
Hallo-wine Trail - October 28 & 29, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sip and savor along Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail. Enjoy three wine tastings in a souvenir glass and a food pairing at: Cross Timbers Winery, Homestead Winery, Su Vino Winery, Grape Vine Springs Winery, Sloan & Williams, Umbra, Messina Hof and Wine Fusion Winery. 21+, $50 per person in advance, $55 at event.
