With a new year always comes new resolutions, many of which are centered around health and fitness. Whether your stay or long layover in Grapevine is in January or July, there are plenty of ways to stay active during your Grapevine visit.

Hit the trails

There are plenty of great sidewalks and runner-friendly areas in Grapevine, but for added scenery check out the trails around Lake Grapevine.With many paved routes available, runners can choose from short one mile options up to a full 10-mile route. And for those that prefer more of a hike, take a trip to Rockledge Park on the north side of Lake Grapevine for nicely maintained wooded trails.

See the sites on a cycle

If you’re in town for just a few days, it’s likely you didn’t load up the bike. However, for those who want to get around Grapevine by power of pedal, swing by Grapevine Bike Center which offers hourly or full-day bicycle rentals. Hit the trails at Lake Grapevine or cruise up and down Main Street while checking out the unique places you can shop, eat, taste wine and more!

Pump some iron

While many of Grapevine’s hotel properties offer some sort of fitness center on-site, some workout fanatics might want to add a bit more intensity to their workout.Some gyms in Grapevine which offer guest passes include LA Fitness near Grapevine Mills, Grapevine CrossFit (must contact in advance of drop-in date), or The REC of Grapevine (must purchase guest pass through member’s account).

Climb on!

Do you prefer to work out using your own body weight in a more vertical orientation, roughly 25 feet off the ground? Then check out Summit Climbing Gym in Grapevine for a full-sized indoor rock climbing facility. Didn’t bring your carabineer or belays? Don’t fret as they offer gear rentals too. If not everyone in your group wants to climb, Summit also offers yoga classes and suspension band training classes as well.

Walk the greens

Grapevine offers 81 holes of golf at top-level courses including the world-famous Cowboys Golf Club, the only NFL-themed golf club in the world.Ditch the golf cart and add up a few miles on your pedometer walking the beautiful green fairways in Grapevine.If you didn’t bring your clubs, don’t worry. Two of the pro-shops also offers a small selection of club rentals (contact in advance to ensure availability or reserve).

Even if you didn’t bring workout gear on your trip, taking a casual stroll up and down Historic Main Street in Downtown Grapevine will rack up a good couple of miles and offer comfortable rest stops in the form of shops, restaurants and wine tasting rooms along the way.
