If you leave the country, you need a passport, so why not if you step back in time?

Starting Saturday, May 23, the Grapevine Pioneers Storybook Adventure Passport program will transport kids back in time, giving them the opportunity to experience the life of a Pioneer on the Grape Vine Prairie.

It’s all part of an exciting educational Summertime in Grapevine experience taking place throughout Grapevine’s Historic District.

The Grapevine Pioneers Storybook Adventure Passport spotlights a variety of 1800s skills and trades activities spread across five different museums and historic sites.

Some of the fun includes designing bandanas in the Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District while getting an up-close and personal look at the Historic Cotton Belt Depot and Section Foreman House.

Or, a visit to the Tin Shop at the Bragg House where kids can craft a nameplate, forging their names in tin.

At Historic Nash Farm, kids will have the opportunity to view daily life on a working farmstead; see farm animals; and create a wooden boat and craft a toy sheep out of pipe cleaners and wool from the Nash Farm Flock.

And the fun doesn’t end there!

Kids can take a tour of the Cotton Ginners Museum within the Settlement to City Museums and learn how cotton is grown and processed. While at the Settlement to City Museums, they can also print a 19th century game at the Keeling House, then assemble it at the Donald Schoolhouse next door where they can also weave a flower out of yarn.

All of this fun is quite affordable as well. The Grapevine Pioneers Storybook Adventure Passport costs $12 (a $22 value) and includes tickets for a variety of activities, as well as admission to the Historic Palace Theatre’s Summer Movie Series for a complimentary matinée on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting June 9 through August 5. Individual activity tickets may also be purchased separately from the Grapevine Pioneers Storybook Adventure Passport for $3 each.

Shop, wine and dine your way through Historic Downtown Grapevine! With more than 80 locally-owned shops, restaurants, winery tasting rooms, boutiques and more, you’ll find something for everyone in the family.

Activities will be available Tuesdays-Sundays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. until August 16, then weekends only until September 20. For more information about the Grapevine Pioneers Storybook Adventure Passport or to purchase tickets, please call +1.817.410.3185 or visit GrapevineTexasUSA.com/GrapevinePioneers.
