Autumn is officially here. Students are back at school, there are fall decorations and pumpkin-spiced foods everywhere and Halloween is quickly approaching. Parents are beginning to purchase their children’s Halloween costumes and families are looking forward to trick-or-treating for candy. However, many parents are seeking an alternative to the Halloween tradition, like a Trunk or Treat.
First Grapevine, A United Methodist Church will host its annual Not So Scary Trunk or Treat at 455 Ball St., Grapevine, TX from 4 PM - 6 PM. The free event features uniquely decorated trunks filled with candy, a petting zoo, along with face paints, games, photo opportunities and more. First Grapevine expects over 300 people from the community to attend.
A Not So Scary Trunk or Treat is in a well-lit place for parents to bring their children to collect candy from trusted sources and creates a friendly environment for families to engage with neighbors. All of the volunteers go through an extensive background check and are required to complete Ministry Safe training, which is designed to protect children. All families are welcome to attend.
