Grapevine, TX 76051
Head to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad in Historic Downtown Grapevine and climb aboard an authentic 1920's Victorian coach for a train trip along the historic Cotton Belt Route that travels from Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stockyards most weekends throughout the year.
The beautifully restored coaches are pulled by two vintage locomotives: "Puffy," the 1896 steam locomotive that just so happens to be the oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South. Then there's "Vinny," a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive.
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad hosts special family-friendly events throughout the year, including the Day Out With ThomasTM train in the spring, excursions featuring the "Would Be Train Robbers," plus everyone's favorite Christmas event, the North Pole Express. Tickets for special events sell out quickly so buy your tickets today.
That's not all! Wine lovers will enjoy being serenaded with live jazz music aboard the Jazz Wine Train in the spring. Plus other holiday events like the special St. Patrick's Day and Witches Brew Train. You'll love it so much that you'll be back for a very merry train adventure aboard the Christmas Wine Train in the winter. Check out our Special Events page for more themed events that will take place throughout the year.
Kids and model train enthusiasts alike will enjoy the Lone Star Hi-Railers Model Train Exhibit located in the historic Grapevine rail yard area. The highly detailed dioramas features iconic and historic structures you'll see in Grapevine located at 298. W. Dallas Road.
Notes: Due to mechanical requirements, engine and equipment changes may occur without notice. The 1896 steam locomotive, "Puffy," is anticipated to be back in service late summer 2017. The 1953 diesel locomotive, "Vinny," is used for the regularly scheduled weekly service.
