THE COMPETITIONS WERE HOT! 38TH ANNUAL GRAPEFEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The four-day festival took place September 12, 13, 14 and 15.
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (September 27, 2024) – The 38th Annual GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience presented by Bank of the West wrapped up on Sunday, September 15 after four days of wine experiences, family fun and fierce competition!
The winners of the GrapeStomp Grand Champion StompOff sponsored by Sam’s Club were Team Happy Feet with 42 ounces of juice! Keaton Evans and Adrian Benavides from Fort Worth took home the coveted Purple Foot Award!
Nick Munson from Hurst was the Grand Champion of the Champagne Cork Shoot-Off sponsored by Texas Gun Experience.
The winner of a six-night getaway to Barossa & Adelaide, South Australia compliments of Qantas Airways, Barossa and the Grapevine Heritage Foundation is Keith Petrosky of Colleyville. When he found out he won out of the thousands of entrants he just couldn’t believe it!
More than 550 people took part in the 38th Annual GrapeFest Tennis and Pickleball Classic. They came from as far away as California, Florida, Mexico, Hungary Spain and England. The winner of the Open Singles Tennis Tournament was Alan Magadan from McAllen and the Open Doubles winners were Matteo Mejia and Blake Anderson from Prosper. The winners of the Pickleball Open Doubles Tournament were Wifredo Sarmiento from Arlington and Eduardo Garcia from Addison.
International winemakers from Barossa, South Australia and Parras, Mexico were on hand in the Liberty Park Plaza International Wine Experience sponsored by Gaylord Texan Resort. To celebrate Barossa’s Sister City relationship with Grapevine, Weinberger’s Deli debuted a new permanent “sanger” (sandwich in Aussie speak) called the “G’Day Mate” to rave reviews.
Vendors talked about the remarkable crowds and a phenomenal weekend. Texuela Salsa Gourmet was at GrapeFest for a second time featuring avocado-based vegan queso and avocado salsa. The owner, Susanna Guerra, describes it as avocado heaven and said the festival was great business and everyone was so friendly.
Gooey Cakes premiered at GrapeFest after debuting at Main Street Fest in May. The owner, Thomas Densmore said it’s the largest event they do every year, “Come in here, you’re in the action zone!”
Artisan vendors took part in Meow Wolf Grapevine’s Artists Uncorked experience and the new Artisan Shoppes vendor marketplace was another great place for shoppers. Honey’s Scented Company owner Honey Apanpa sells wickless candles and scented body products. She has taken part in the Grapevine Market but it was her first time at one of its festivals. She started her business four years ago and was thrilled to be able to meet all the festival attendees at GrapeFest.
GrapeFest featured music on four stages featuring headliners American Idol winner Taylor Hicks & Las Vegas icon Frankie Moreno, along with the Bishop String Quartet, Reputation: A Taylor Swift Tribute, The Joshua Ingram Band and more.
Another star of the festival was the Texas Rangers World Series Championship Trophy! It was there for two nights and was the subject of many photo opportunities.
The 39th Annual GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience will be September 11, 12, 13 and 14, 2025.
