GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (September 18, 2025) – A beloved European tradition is coming to life in Grapevine this Fall as the Mladá muzika Šardice Brass Orchestra takes the stage at Peace Plaza for a free outdoor performance on Wednesday, September 24, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Hailing from the Kyjov region of the Czech Republic, the award-winning ensemble brings a vibrant mix of traditional brass music, jazz variations and popular arrangements. The performance will feature two ensembles: a youth orchestra made up of approximately 45 talented young musicians and a smaller group of seasoned violins, bass and cimbalom band players. Together, they will rotate in and out of the performance space, creating a lively and dynamic experience for all ages.

Founded in 1980, Mladá muzika Šardice continues a cherished legacy of youth brass music in the Kyjov region. The group has won multiple national and international honors, including top awards at competitions in Spain and the Czech Republic. Under the direction of conductor Roman Kohoutek, the ensemble represents its region across Europe and abroad, with past tours including performances in Slovakia, France, Germany, Spain and Japan.
Cimbalom band, fresh off concerts in Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, is eager to share its culture and sound with North Texas audiences in Grapevine.
Peace Plaza, located at Grapevine Main Station, is a gathering place rooted in history and designed to honor moments of connection - past and present. It commemorates the 1843 peace talks between Republic of Texas President Sam Houston and leaders of ten Native American nations, held near present-day Grapevine. Today, it continues to welcome visitors from around the world for concerts, festivals and shared experiences. Hosting Mladá muzika Šardice in this setting reflects the spirit of international friendship that Grapevine proudly celebrates.
This special one-night-only event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a lively evening of international music in the heart of Grapevine.
