Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association Recognizes 41st Annual Lone Star International Wine Competition Medal Winners
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS—The Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association (TWGGA) is proud to announce the medal winners of the 41st annual Lone Star International Wine Competition (LSIWC) held June 12–13 in historic Grapevine, Texas.
From among 350 unique wine entries from more than 70 unique companies, medals were awarded in the following categories in the wine competition and label design competition:
- Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Individual Medals: 3 Double Gold, 111 Gold, 193 Silver, and 48 Bronze Medal Winners.
- Best in Category: 34 Best in Category Medal Winners.
- Top Texas and Limited Production Honorees: 17 Top Texas Medal Honorees and 15 Top Limited Production Medal Honorees (Texas wines with fewer than 200 cases produced).
- Grand Star: 8 Grand Star Medal Winners, including Texas-made wines from Blue Ostrich Winery and Vineyard, Duchman Family Winery, Thirsty Mule Winery, Torr Na Lochs Vineyard and Winery, and Wedding Oak Winery.
“The Lone Star International Wine Competition plays a crucial role in elevating the status of the Texas wine industry, promoting its growth, and ensuring its wines are recognized for their quality and uniqueness,” John Matthews, TWGGA 2024 President and owner of Cassaro Winery and Vineyard in Ovilla, Texas, said. “Thank you to all of the producers, winemakers, judges, Grapevine Wine Pouring Society volunteers, and Visit Grapevine ambassadors that make the competition possible.”

LSIWC invited 25 highly credible wine industry and graphic arts experts to provide professional and non-biased judging.
About the Competition
As the oldest international wine competition in Texas, the LSIWC provides a showcase for recognizing the quality and diversity of one of the fastest growing wine regions in the United States by promoting outstanding wines from Texas (and beyond).
The wine competition honors high-quality wines through a blind judging process that considers each entries appearance, aroma, body, taste, and finish. The label design competition celebrates visual design fundamentals, brand strategy, and unique packaging elements.
