The 40th Annual GrapeFest® – A Texas Wine Experience presented by Bank of the West returns to Grapevine September 17, 18, 19 & 20 with new ways to sip, savor, shop, stomp and celebrate on Historic Main Street.
GrapeFest is celebrating its milestone 40th festival and this year’s celebration brings together the traditions people love with plenty of new experiences to discover. From Texas wines and international tastings to new food, artisan shopping, live music and a chance to win a trip to Australia, there is plenty to explore during four days in Grapevine.
Here are a few experiences to add to your GrapeFest list:
Knock on the Florence Door
One of GrapeFest’s most unique experiences is returning by popular demand. At Champagne Terrace, sponsored by Hilton DFW Lakes, look for the little wooden Florence Door. Knock on the door and receive a glass of prosecco through a wine window inspired by Italy’s historic buchette del vino.
It’s a fun nod to wine history with a distinctly GrapeFest twist.
Taste and Judge Texas Wines
At the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, sponsored by Audi Grapevine, you'll help decide which Texas wines take home the top honors.
Taste your way through 4o+ Texas wineries and 100 wines during a 90-minute session, then cast your vote for your favorites. With 10 sessions to choose from, including three VIP experiences, wine lovers can sip, savor and play a part in one of GrapeFest’s signature traditions.
Take a Trip Around the World Without Leaving Grapevine
The International Wine Experience, sponsored by Gaylord Texan Resort, brings wines from France, Napa Valley and two of Grapevine’s Sister Cities together for a global tasting experience.
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the famous 1976 Judgment of Paris, when California wines famously prevailed over French wines in a blind tasting. GrapeFest’s take on the experience gives guests the chance to explore wines from the Old World of France and New World of Napa.
And if that inspires you to see where some of those wines come from, there’s an even bigger opportunity waiting nearby.
Enter to Win a Getaway to Australia
Wine lovers can enter to win a luxury six-night getaway to Barossa and Adelaide, South Australia, sponsored by Qantas Airways, Barossa and the Grapevine CVB’s Heritage Foundation.
The prize includes round-trip flights for two from DFW International Airport to Australia, transfers between Adelaide and Barossa and a private day of touring in Barossa featuring wineries represented at GrapeFest.

GrapeFest favorites like funnel cakes, corn dogs and Steak on a Stake are back, but there are plenty of new flavors to try, too.
This year’s lineup includes Filipino cuisine from SoulFire on Wheels, hand pies from Piemazing, new snacks from The Kettle Corn Cowboys and Astronaut Snacks and millennial-themed Rewind Dirty Sodas.
And because GrapeFest takes place right on Historic Main Street, you can also wander into Grapevine’s locally owned restaurants, cafés, galleries, boutiques and winery tasting rooms while you’re here.
Shop More Than 70 Artisan Vendors
Bring your shopping list — or leave room for something unexpected.
More than 70 artisan vendors will line Historic Main Street with handcrafted goods, art, jewelry, wine-inspired finds and more. Look for new experiences like Boot Scootin’ Bloomin’, where you can create a wildflower bouquet, The Turquoise Egg’s hand-painted glassware and unique finds from Luce di Lucca Jewelry and RevRan Hats.
Learn Something New About Wine
GrapeFest offers more than opportunities to drink wine. It’s also a chance to learn about it.
Wine seminars include the Barossa Premium Wine Experience and Master Class, plus Around the World in 60 Minutes sessions focused on Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.

Get Your Feet in the Grapes
No GrapeFest experience list would be complete without GrapeStomp.
Grab a partner, climb into a barrel and see how much juice you can squeeze from 15 pounds of grapes in two minutes. Daily winners return Sunday for the Grand Champion StompOff and a chance to take home the coveted Purple Foot Award.
Four Decades. Four Stages. Four Days of Music.
The GrapeFest soundtrack spans four decades, with live music on four stages throughout the festival.
Tribute artists will bring favorite hits to the Grapevine Mills Main Stage, including 80s Mix Tape Friday night and Heartbreak Petty Saturday night. Music will also fill Champagne Terrace, the International Wine Experience and Town Square Gazebo.
Bring the Family
GrapeFest isn't just for wine lovers.
Families can enjoy KidZone and the Carnival & Midway, with complimentary festival admission all day Thursday. A $30 unlimited carnival ride wristband will also be available Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.
Climb Aboard the Harvest Wine Train
For a different way to experience GrapeFest, climb aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad for the Harvest Wine Train on Thursday.
This 21+ experience pairs a vintage train ride with Texas wines and seasonal flavors for a memorable way to kick off the festival weekend.
There are also regularly-scheduled Grapevine Vintage Railroad excursions sponsored by SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium on Saturday and Sunday.
