Grapevine’s Honorable Mayor William D. Tate will mark 50 years in office in May 2026 – becoming the longest-serving mayor in Texas history and one of the longest serving in the United States of America. The Golden Jubilee celebration will kick off during the 42nd Annual Main Street Fest – A Timeless Texas Tradition presented by Bank of the West.
New in entertainment this year are high-wire performers, Antigravity Art, who are recreating a historic moment from 1914, when Will Taylor, known as “Bill the Movie Man,” staged a high-wire walk across Main Street. There are high-wire performances between Grapevine City Hall and The Wallis Hotel (Messina Hof Winery) at the following times:
Heritage to World Class: Mayor Tate’s 50 Year Legacy - A new exhibit will be unveiled at Main Street Fest to honor Mayor William D. Tate’s Golden Jubilee year. Get a look at rarely displayed, treasured Tate family artifacts, historic mementos from Grapevine’s International Sister Cities and large murals showcasing Grapevine’s successes under his leadership. The exhibit is located at CVB Headquarters, 636 S. Main St., and is free and open to the public, and runs through Monday, June 1.
The Rest Station at The Post offers festivalgoers a cool place to take a break, get some water and use restrooms that also feature diaper changing stations.
